What is TNX ?

Just Recently, I came across this company TNX.net (pronounced as Thanks; SMS-Speak ) which serves as a great platform to both text-link advertisers as well as publishers. TNX seems like a very promising text links marketplace to me.

Those of you, who have been reading Inspirit from quite some time know that though there are many options available for monetizing a blog, but I haven’t chose to use them (except Google Adsense, and my recent try out: Project Wonderful) I must have decided to serve text link ads from TNX dot net only after considering various aspects of it.

You just started getting an idea of how promising the services offered by TNX are!

Why should you use TNX?

Its a well-known and understood fact that you can improve the rank (Technorati, Site Rank, Page Rank, etc.) of your blogs by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to your home page and other pages. You might be having awesome content on your blog, but you know that not all of this world reads your blog/blog-posts. You have to market your content in order to increase your traffic and readership.

Banner Ads are effective for the purpose in their own ways, but text link advertising is basically what helps you the most. If you are linked from some other blog/website, not only that the traffic flows in from that blog or website, but the text of links can help you in conquering the top positions in SERPs. This is a major assistance to bloggers/advertisers to pimp their campaigns and help them achieve their SEO goals.

But Why TNX specifically?

TNX is quite new on the text links advertising scene, and as the perfect ‘gentleman’ start up, is taking care that it offers a user-friendly interface to its members. Once you sign up for TNX (its easy and real quick), you will find easy-to-follow instructions and guidelines on how to use the TNX system, as a publisher of text links or as an advertiser.

Along side is a preview of the side panel that ensures maximum functionality and easy accessibility to various options available.

TNX.net allows publishers to sell links from each page on their website, and for advertisers it allows to buy millions of links from other sites in few clicks. TNX is a convenient tool that allows publishers and advertisers to save time, efforts and money. Its a quick means to build thousands of links from hundreds of high quality relevant sites linking to yours.

The best thing that I like about this advertising service is that every link you publish or any link you buy looks so natural, as its manual inserted.

Some readers claimed that they lost their PR and rankings in SERPs! But after using the system myself, and from the experience of many other users who have been using the system successfully… USE THE SYSTEM WISELY. DON’T OVER LOOK THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you follow the guidelines and use the service sensibly, there is no chance that you’ll ever be banned for anything.

<-(The Current Promotional Offer: A Big Bonus)->

There’s also this attractive promotional offer running these days which gives you 2000 TNX points just for signing up and then another 5000 TNX points when the blog you submit gets approved by the system.

You may also like to check out this link generator, thats a free tool to make paid links look more natural to Google and other search engines.

Amazing Statistics!

At the time of writing this, there are 52,532 members at a daily growth rate of +0.36%. There are 23007576 links in the system with 25485 links created in last hour. As of now there are 22849610 pages indexed in the system. The site rank for TNX is 4.1 out of 10. Plus, it has a Alexa traffic rank of: 10,897

To Sum Up…

What can be more compelling than these amazing stats to join this text links marketplace! At least, I couldn’t hold myself back.

I’d be writing more about this service after using it for some time. Till then, take a few seconds to sign up for TNX and have a first hand experience, yourself.

After a terrible day, of driving over 200 kilometers on Indian roads (they are horrible, I tell you!) and attending some parties, I didn’t really think I could publish a post today! So instead of writing anything, I spent the last 3-4 hours doing some research on Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising & optimization.

I was specifically on a look-out for an effective way of making maximum money out of banner ads displayed on websites and blogs (like the Google Adsense, also based on Pay-Per-Click model) but couldn’t find much, other than suggestions and tips on lay-out and positioning of ads or blending them with the design, which we come across at just every other make-money blog.

But there is another aspect to blending the ad units with the blog or placing it at hot-spots than just design enhancement. Have you ever given a thought to what kind of traffic clicks on your Adsense or similar banner advertisements?

Web-savvy people know what Google Adsense or any banner ad is and will generally avoid clicking your ads, while the non-web-savvy people can not easily make out ads from other links, content or a piece of interesting information. As a reader with a blogger mindset, when I am reading your blog, ads may even be a distraction for me when what I am interested in is your content actually. I may not click your ads unless or otherwise I often shop online and am really interested in buying something!

Whereas, you can expect a kid to click on an ad unit in the header showing his favorite game flashing with a free-for -download tag, or a music freak cum noobie clicking the adsense unit in the sidebar to know about a store that provides electronic guitars at rock-bottom prices. This may sound senseless but you can actually expect the clicking visitor to navigate around the advertiser’s page and stay there for some time there out of curiosity to find something he is looking for.

* Believe it or not! But if you can target Non-Web-Savvy audience through your blog or website, you can make more money out of your Pay-Per-Click services like Adsense, etc. than from targeting web-savvy audience at a similar scale.

Do you have two blogs targeting these two different segments? Notice any differences between the money you make from each of these blogs? It’d be so lovely if you share your experiences and opinions with me and other readers of Inspirit. Take some time to drop a comment below.

Do you use Google Adsense to make money online? Have you installed Google Adsense on your blog to start making money from your blog?

The Prohibited Uses clause of the Online Standard Terms and Conditions mentions that any type of repeated manual clicks will lead to an immediate suspension or termination of your Google Adsense account. The Google AdSense Program Policies as mentioned in the “Google Adsense Program Policies Help Center” mentions it even more clearly:

Invalid Clicks and Impressions

Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to your account being disabled.

Take my words, as an advice! Never take this stuff by Google lightly… In your quest for making money online, don’t overlook the Terms & Conditions or you’ll even lose all the money you ever made from Adsense. Remember, Google can get to you sooner than you think you can “hit and run.”

But then, sometimes you can face problems like this one that I faced. When I made a post, a few days back, a link in the post was on the extreme left of the content container, almost into the Adsense Ad unit in left sidebar that bulges a little into the content container. I had to check by clicking on the left-edge of the hyper-link to make sure it didn’t make a click on the Ad. This is because, when readers realize that they clicked on an ad when they wanted to click on that link, they’ll either hit the back button or reload the page very soon. That could be risky, for such clicks can be thought of as clicks under influence or anything of that sort. And while trying to check if clicking anywhere near the link doesn’t click the ad unit, what if I myself click the ad unit! This can get me in sacks, and I must tell you, I am really Google-fearing.

But at the same time, I wanted to test by clicking that space on my real estate. At the point I was doing this stuff, I was reminded of a post about test-driving Google Adsense, that I had made on my previous blog.

Click your own Ads & Google won’t even mind!

So,here’s a simple solution to this problem. All you have to do is add “google_adtest = ‘on’;” to your ad code using the following syntax:

google_ad_client = “pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
google_ad_width = 468;
google_ad_height = 60;
google_ad_format = “468×60_as”;
google_ad_type = “text”;
google_ad_channel =””;
google_adtest = ‘on’;

; where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is your Publisher ID.

Now any impressions or clicks on that particular modified Adsense ad unit will be ignored and so you can test the adsense on your website/blog without any hassles.

Coming back to the Adsense ToS again…

The document clearly says:

Any AdSense ad code, search box code, or referral code must be pasted directly into Web pages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the ad code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason.

But I think this is just as harmless as changing the #RRGGBB colors after generating the ad-unit code, directly. Just in case you are uncertain about the whole thing, please contact Adsense Support Team.

Also, remember to remove google_adtest = “on”; once you are done or you won’t make any money!
