I must admit I think the about page is neglected by too many bloggers. I am not sure if other people use it as much as I do but it is one place I check after reading a good post on a new blog to see if it convinces me I should add the blog to my RSS reader. It is good to try and let people a little bit about yourself. And also I think to let them know what the theme of the blog is so they can decide whether they want to subscribe.

I used to think the whole profile thing was a bit silly. But then Ifound myself always looking at profiles to get a feel for people if I read something interesting from them. It really brings the human side back to the web. The profile is really creating quite an evolution on the web. Neat!

Great info. However, I feel it some jobs it is better to keep certain info about yourself hidden. I for example am a teacher, and I wouldn’t want many of them to read my blog. I worry about the sort of info people freely share on their profiles or sites these days.
